COURSE CURRICULUM

Diploma in Accounting, students must complete a total of 60 credits encompassing a comprehensive curriculum designed to build a strong foundation in both accounting and business principles. The program includes essential courses such as Business Computer Applications I (BCAP 1200), Introduction to Business in Canada (BUSM 1100), Business Law (BUSM 1285), and Business Presentation Skills (BUSM 1500), which provide practical knowledge and communication skills crucial for a business environment. Organizational Behaviour (BUSM 2200) and Written Communications (CMNS 1118) further enhance students’ understanding of workplace dynamics and professional communication. Students study fundamental economic concepts through Principles of Microeconomics (ECON 1220) and Principles of Macroeconomics (ECON 1221), equipping them with critical analytical tools. Core accounting courses include Financial Accounting I (FMGT 1115), Intermediate Accounting I (FMGT 1321), Managerial Accounting Overview (FMGT 2294), and Intermediate Financial Accounting (FMGT 2421), which progressively develop expertise in financial reporting and managerial decision-making.
