COURSE CURRICULUM

The program offers two specialized streams: Livestock and Crops, each with a distinct set of required courses and electives to suit the interests and career goals of students. In the Livestock Stream, students begin with foundational courses such as Introduction to Diseases and Treatments, Introduction to Animal Science and Business Communications, Animal Handling, Welfare and Ethics, Livestock Marketing and Sales, Beef Sustainability and Technology, and Agricultural Sales. These courses equip students with essential knowledge in animal science, livestock marketing, and sustainable practices. Additionally, students are required to choose at least three electives from a range of courses, including Beef Production, Cow-calf Management, Feedlot Production, Dairy Cattle Production, Dairy Herd Management I & II, and Livestock Production Management. In the Crops Stream, students study core courses focused on crop production, pest management, and agricultural technologies. Required courses include Grain, Oilseeds, and Pulse Crop Marketing, Agricultural Sales, Plant Science & Field Crops, Weed & Herbicide Management, Insects & Diseases of Crops, Integrated Crop Management, Grain Harvesting Systems, Tillage & Direct Seeding Systems, Pesticide Application Technologies, and Applications in Precision Farm. These courses provide a solid foundation for students pursuing careers in crop management and agribusiness.
