COURSE CURRICULUM

In Year 1 of the Interior Design program, students begin by honing foundational skills in design and presentation. Required courses include Effective Writing to improve written communication, Design I for an introduction to design principles, and Graphic Presentation I to develop visual communication skills. Students also take Technical Drafting I to learn technical drawing, followed by more advanced courses like Design II, Graphic Presentation II, and Technical Drafting II. The curriculum also covers Design History to provide context for modern design, Materials II to explore different materials used in interior design, and Construction Fundamentals to understand building processes. In Year 2, students build on their skills with more specialized courses. They study Professional Practice to learn about industry standards and ethics, and advance their design capabilities through courses like Design III and Design IV. Further emphasis is placed on graphic presentation skills with Graphic Presentation III and Graphic Presentation IV, while Detailing I and Detailing II cover technical aspects of interior design. The program also includes Technical Studio I and Technical Studio II, where students apply their skills in practical settings. The final year culminates with the Interior Design Practicum, providing hands-on industry experience.
