COURSE CURRICULUM

The Agricultural Science program offers two concentrations: Animal Science and Crop Science, each with a tailored set of core courses and specialized electives. In the Animal Science concentration, students build a foundation in both business and animal health through courses such as Microeconomics, Business Records and Reporting, Introduction to Diseases and Treatments, and Introduction to Animal Science and Business Communications. Further study includes Animal Anatomy and Physiology, Animal Handling, Welfare and Ethics, Livestock Nutrition, and Range & Forage Management. Students also participate in hands-on learning through the Introduction to Student Managed Farm course. To complete this concentration, students must choose at least one elective from options such as Beef Production, Dairy Cattle Production, or Livestock Production Management. The Crop Science concentration focuses on plant production, soil management, and agricultural technology. Core courses include Microeconomics, Student Managed Farm I, Business Records and Reporting, and Grain, Oilseeds and Pulse Crop Marketing. Students also take Agricultural Communications & Computer Applications, Plant Science & Field Crops, Weed & Herbicide Management, and Soil Science. Technical skills are developed through courses in Tillage & Direct Seeding Systems and Pesticide Application Technologies. This concentration provides students with a strong understanding of modern crop production practices and agribusiness management.
