COURSE CURRICULUM

The Honours Bachelor of Science in Resource and Environmental Economics program offers a structured four-year curriculum that integrates economics with environmental studies and other related disciplines. In the first year, students take foundational courses including Economics 1010 and 1011, Environmental Studies 1150 and 1190, Mathematics 1171 and 1172, and either History 1100 or Political Science 1100, along with one elective from Type C or Environmental Studies. The second year deepens the focus with courses such as Economics 2017, 2037, 2010, 2011, and 2212, Environmental Studies 2210 or Biology 2210, Environmental Studies 2013 or Philosophy 2013, and advanced Mathematics courses 3332 and 3334, alongside a half-credit Environmental Studies elective at the second or third year level. In the third year, students take Economics 3117, a half-credit from Economics 2231, 3111, 3211, 3313, or 3319, one full credit in Economics at various levels, and three credits in Environmental Studies, including two Type C and one Type B courses at the upper-year level. The fourth year includes advanced Economics courses such as 4217, 4131, and 4531, a half-credit from select Economics electives, a half-credit in Economics at the upper level, Environmental Studies 4810, and additional Environmental Studies credits totaling two credits split between Type C and Type B courses. This comprehensive program equips students with a balanced understanding of economic principles and environmental issues, preparing them for careers that require expertise in resource management and sustainable development.
