COURSE CURRICULUM

The Honours Bachelor of Arts in Economics is a four-year program designed for students who demonstrate strong academic performance, requiring a minimum 70% average in Economics 1100 and another approved course to enter after the first year. Students must maintain a 70% average in economics courses throughout their studies. The first year includes foundational courses such as Economics 1100, electives from history, mathematics, and other categories. In the second year, students take core economics courses including Economics 2017, 2037, 2115, 2117, and 2203, alongside non-economics electives. The third year involves two advanced economics courses, Economics 3117, and additional electives, some of which may be economics-related. In the fourth year, students complete advanced courses such as Economics 4217 and 4901, along with several economics electives including at least one upper-level course, plus one elective outside economics. Throughout the program, students are encouraged to consult with the Chair of the Economics Department to tailor their course selection. This structure provides a rigorous and comprehensive education in economic theory and practice, preparing students for diverse career paths or further study in economics and related fields.
