COURSE CURRICULUM

The Advanced 3D Animation and 3D Modelling program at KPU requires students to complete a total of 96 credits over six terms, with a minimum grade of C in all courses. This structured, full-time, cohort-based program begins in Term 1 with foundational courses including 3D Animation Principles and Techniques (ENTA 1120), Introduction to 3D in Entertainment Arts (ENTA 1121), Perspective in Entertainment Arts (ENTA 1122), and Cinematics for Animation and VFX (ENTA 1123), totaling 16 credits. Term 2 builds on these fundamentals with Introduction to 3D Animation (ENTA 1220), Modelling (ENTA 1221), Texturing and Surfacing (ENTA 1222), and Computer Animation Production (ENTA 1223). In Term 3, students advance to Intermediate 3D Animation (ENTA 1320), Intermediate Modelling (ENTA 1321), Introduction to Sculpting (ENTA 1322), and Industry Preparation (ENTA 1323). Term 4 introduces more complex concepts such as Visual Storytelling in 3D Animation (ENTA 2120), Rigging (ENTA 2121), Advanced Modelling (ENTA 2122), and Advanced Texturing and Surfacing (ENTA 2123). Term 5 deepens specialization through Advanced Character Animation (ENTA 2220), Look Development and Lighting (ENTA 2221), Advanced Sculpting (ENTA 2222), and Advanced Computer Animation Production (ENTA 2223). In the final term, students complete a comprehensive capstone project with 3D Animation Project courses in Preproduction (ENTA 2321), Production (ENTA 2322), Production Finals (ENTA 2323), and Portfolio (ENTA 2324). This curriculum equips students with the technical, creative, and collaborative skills required to build a professional demo reel and enter the 3D animation and modelling industry.
