COURSE CURRICULUM

The Foundation in Entertainment Arts program requires students to complete a total of 48 credits, divided across three terms, with a minimum grade of C in all required courses. In Term 1, students take four foundational courses, including Sketching for Communication in Entertainment Arts, Digital Photography in Entertainment Arts, Figure Drawing in Entertainment Arts, and Figure Sculpting in Entertainment Arts, totaling 16 credits. These courses focus on developing core artistic skills such as drawing, sculpting, and photography, essential for visual communication within the entertainment arts field. In Term 2, students build on this foundation with four additional courses: Introduction to Advanced Programs in Entertainment Arts, Colour and Design in Entertainment Arts, Head Drawing in Entertainment Arts, and Head Sculpting in Entertainment Arts, again totaling 16 credits. These courses emphasize design principles, advanced drawing techniques, and sculpting focused on the human head, preparing students for more specialized work. Term 3 continues with four further courses: Introduction to Maya in Entertainment Arts, Traditional Painting in Entertainment Arts, Digital Painting for Visual Development, and Creature Sculpting in Entertainment Arts, also totaling 16 credits. This term introduces industry-standard software training and enhances both traditional and digital painting skills, along with sculpting more complex subjects like creatures. Together, these courses provide a comprehensive mix of artistic and technical skills designed to prepare students for advanced programs and careers in animation, visual effects, and game design, while fostering a strong personal portfolio essential for professional success in entertainment arts.
