COURSE CURRICULUM

The Certificate in Computer Aided Design & Drafting (CADD) requires the completion of 32 credits, offering a comprehensive curriculum that equips students with essential drafting and design skills for various industries. The program begins with the foundational course CADD 1150, Computer Aided Drafting & Design Software, which provides hands-on training in industry-standard software and accounts for 4 credits. Students must then select 12 credits from CADD courses at the 1100 level, allowing them to deepen their technical knowledge and proficiency in drafting techniques. Additionally, the certificate includes two specialized 4-credit courses: CADA 1201, Architectural Principles, which introduces fundamental architectural concepts, and CADA 1250, Introduction to Building Information Modeling (BIM) Software for Architectural applications, reflecting the growing importance of BIM technology in the design industry. To further tailor their studies, students must select 8 credits from either Mechanical or Structural drafting streams. The Mechanical options include CADM 1230, Process Piping, and CADM 1250, 3 Dimensional (3D) Parametric Solids Modeling Software, focusing on mechanical drafting skills. The Structural stream offers CADS 1200, Introduction to Structural Drafting and Concrete, and CADS 1251, Introduction to Building Information Modeling (BIM) for Structural, providing expertise in structural design and BIM applications.
