COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Human Resources Management requires a minimum of 120 credits, with an option for an additional 28 credits if students choose the Co-operative Education program. The curriculum begins with foundational business courses such as Organizational Behaviour, Business Law, Operations Management, and Introduction to Marketing. Students select between two accounting groups, either Accelerated Introductory Financial Accounting or Introductory Financial Accounting I and II, along with courses in Managerial Finance, Business Analysis and Decision Making, Managerial Accounting for Entrepreneurs, and Business Strategy. The core Human Resources Management courses cover essential topics including Human Resources Management I, Human Relations in Organizations, Organizational Analysis, HR Information Systems and Data, Employment Law, Recruitment and Selection, Occupational Health and Safety, Total Compensation, People Learning and Development, Labour Relations, Organizational Development, Leadership and HR Consulting, culminating in a Strategic Human Resources Management Capstone course. Breadth education courses include professional communication, university writing, principles of micro and macroeconomics, business ethics, and math or statistics courses tailored for business applications. Additionally, students must complete 15 credits of breadth electives outside of core business and HR courses, plus 15 credits of general electives, with recommended courses in Fundamentals of Business, Union Management Relations, Negotiation Skills, and advanced Economics. This comprehensive program equips students with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in human resources roles, preparing them for certification and professional success in diverse organizational settings.
