COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Accounting degree requires a minimum of 120 credits, with an additional 28 credits for students in the Co-operative Education option. The curriculum includes a range of business foundation courses such as Organizational Behaviour, Business Law, Operations Management, and Introduction to Marketing. Students must select accounting courses covering introductory to advanced levels, including financial accounting, taxation, auditing, managerial accounting, financial statement analysis, and financial modeling using MS-Excel. They also choose three specialized accounting courses from options like Organizational Fraud, Advanced Taxation, Accounting Theory, and Data Analytics for Accountants. Breadth education courses enhance business knowledge and skills with subjects such as Management Information Systems, Accounting Systems, Professional Communication, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, University Writing, and Business Ethics. Additionally, students select one course from various calculus options and one statistics or quantitative analysis course from a diverse list including Business Statistics, Quantitative Data Analysis, Applied Statistics, and Social Research Statistics. To foster a well-rounded education, students must take four breadth electives outside of accounting and core business subjects, promoting interdisciplinary learning, along with two general electives from any area of study. This comprehensive program combines technical accounting expertise with foundational business knowledge, analytical skills, and ethical understanding, preparing graduates for professional accounting designations and successful careers in the evolving field of accounting and business management.
