COURSE CURRICULUM

Bachelor of Arts in Human Behaviour and Applied Psychology at KPU must fulfill all requirements of the Bachelor of Arts Framework alongside specific major course requirements totaling 51 credits. The program’s foundational coursework at the 1000 and 2000 levels includes essential psychology courses such as Introduction to Psychology: Basic Processes, Introduction to Psychology: Areas and Applications, Applied Statistics, Brain and Behaviour, Social Psychology, Cognition, and Research Methods in Psychology I. These courses provide students with a broad understanding of psychological principles and research skills. In the advanced 3000 and 4000 level courses, students focus on applied and specialized topics including Technical Report Writing, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Practicum in Psychology, Post University Transition, Tests and Measurement, Human Factors, Interpersonal Relations, and Culture and Psychology. The program also requires students to choose between Program Evaluation or Research Methods II: Qualitative Methodologies to deepen their methodological expertise. The six-credit practicum course offers valuable real-world experience through supervised workplace placements, fostering practical skills and professional development. Additionally, the Post University Transition course supports students in preparing a portfolio to demonstrate their learning outcomes and readiness for graduation. Together, these courses equip students with a robust blend of theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and applied experience, preparing graduates for diverse career paths or further graduate study in psychology and related fields.
