COURSE CURRICULUM

Students pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree with a Major in General Studies at KPU must complete a minimum of 120 credits that satisfy specific curricular requirements. This includes the mandatory completion of ENGL 1100, Introduction to University Writing, which accounts for 3 credits. Additionally, students must complete 33 credits from courses within the English discipline, along with 33 credits from courses designated as Quantitative (QUAN), emphasizing the development of strong communication and analytical skills. The program also requires 21 credits from courses at the 1100 level or higher, ensuring foundational knowledge in various subjects. To build depth and advanced understanding, students must complete 45 credits from courses at the 3000 level or higher, fostering critical thinking and specialized expertise. Importantly, the curriculum promotes interdisciplinary learning by requiring 15 credits from courses spanning at least three different disciplines, which may overlap with other course categories.
