ABOUT UNIVERSITY

Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) is a public undergraduate polytechnic university in British Columbia, Canada, with campuses in Surrey, Richmond, Cloverdale, Whalley, and Langley. It serves more than 20,000 students and employs around 1,400 faculty members across the Metro Vancouver region. KPU offers over 140 programs, including bachelor’s degrees, diplomas, certificates, apprenticeships, and vocational education in fields such as business, engineering, healthcare, design, and criminology. Established as Kwantlen College in 1981 following a split from Douglas College, it became Kwantlen University College in 1995 and achieved university status in 2008. The name “Kwantlen” was given with permission from the Kwantlen First Nation. The university emphasizes applied and technical education and has affiliations with several academic organizations, including the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada (AUCC), International Association of Universities (IAU), and Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE). KPU has received high ratings in national surveys for teaching quality, student satisfaction, and career preparation.
