ABOUT UNIVERSITY
Keyano College is a post-secondary institution in Fort McMurray, Alberta, serving over 2,100 full-time and 4,000 part-time students. The main Clearwater Campus is in downtown Fort McMurray, with additional locations in Gregoire Industrial Park, Fort Chipewyan, Anzac, and Fort McKay. The college is a member of the Alberta Rural Development Network. Established in 1965 as the Alberta Vocational Centre (AVC), Keyano College officially opened in 1966. It was renamed in 1975, adopting the Cree word "Keyano," meaning "Sharing." In 1978, it transitioned into a community college with a Board of Governors overseeing operations. Keyano College continues to evolve, balancing challenges with new educational initiatives while maintaining its commitment to student development and community engagement.
