COURSE CURRICULUM

The Mobile Application Development Ontario College Graduate Certificate program spans two semesters and offers a comprehensive, hands-on curriculum delivered entirely in person. In Semester 1, students build foundational skills through courses such as Android Application Development 1 (ITE 5333) and iOS Application Development 1 (ITE 5334), where they begin developing native mobile applications for the two dominant platforms. Cross Platform Mobile Application Development 1 (MADV 5000) introduces tools and frameworks for creating apps compatible with multiple operating systems, while Modern UI/UX Design (MADV 5001) emphasizes user-centric interface design. Students also explore Agile Development Methodologies and Product Management (MADV 5002), gaining practical knowledge in project management within fast-paced development environments. Data Management and Cloud-Integration (MADV 5003) focuses on backend connectivity and cloud-based services, and Professional Development: Networking, Careers & Industry Trends (MADV 5004) helps students prepare for careers through industry insights and professional growth. In Semester 2, the learning deepens with Android Application Development 2 (ITE 5433) and iOS Application Development 2 (ITE 5434), advancing students' native development skills. Cross Platform Mobile Application Development 2 (MADV 5500) continues the multi-platform learning, while Mobile Application Security, Testing and Deployment (MADV 5501) covers essential practices for launching secure, production-ready apps. The program culminates in a Capstone Project (MADV 5502), allowing students to apply their knowledge in a real-world development scenario. Additionally, students choose one elective from advanced topics such as Mobile AI & Machine Learning Integration, AR/VR, Blockchain, or IoT, enabling specialization in emerging technologies.
