COURSE CURRICULUM

The Information Technology graduate certificate program offered at both the North and Downtown campuses provides students with comprehensive, hands-on learning across multiple semesters. In the first semester, students build foundational skills through courses such as Operating Systems, Java Programming 1, Web Programming and Design, Introduction to Database and SQL, and Requirement Analysis and Process Modelling. These core courses establish essential technical knowledge necessary for advanced studies. The second semester introduces more specialized topics including XML and JavaScript as well as Fundamentals of Data Analytics, preparing students for emerging trends in technology and data-driven decision-making. Students also select four elective courses in Information Technology to tailor their learning according to personal interests and career goals. Moving into the third semester, the program focuses on professional development and practical application, with courses like Career Connections and Project Management helping students develop critical teamwork, communication, and project execution skills. Students then choose five additional electives, allowing further specialization. In the final semester, students engage in courses such as Employee Engagement and the Capstone Project, which synthesizes their learning through real-world, industry-relevant projects. Alongside these core courses, students select five electives, ensuring a well-rounded and customizable education experience. This program’s blend of theory, practical skills, and professional preparation equips graduates with the technical expertise and soft skills required to excel in the competitive IT industry.
