COURSE CURRICULUM

The Environmental Control Ontario College Graduate Certificate program is structured over two semesters, offering a comprehensive curriculum delivered in a hybrid format to provide flexibility for students. In the first semester, students engage with foundational courses such as Sustainable Resource Management, Water and Wastewater, Environmental Chemistry, and Environmental Site Assessment, which build essential knowledge in environmental science and technology. Additional courses like Resilient Communities and Green Policies and Programs, Environmental and Construction Project Management, and Environmental Sampling & Analysis further develop students’ skills in practical and regulatory aspects of environmental control. The second semester advances into specialized topics including Environmental Site Remediation & Monitoring, Environmental Law & Regulations, Waste Management, and Construction Administration & Management, emphasizing the legal, economic, and operational facets of environmental management. Students also take Project Planning & Economic Analysis of Environmental Management Systems, equipping them with critical planning and analytical skills required to evaluate and implement effective environmental strategies. The program culminates with a Capstone Project, allowing students to apply their knowledge to real-world environmental challenges, often involving collaboration with industry partners or community stakeholders. Through this well-rounded curriculum, graduates develop problem-solving abilities, technical expertise, and project management skills, preparing them to contribute effectively to environmental sustainability initiatives and meet the growing demand for professionals in this vital sector.
