COURSE CURRICULUM

The Sport Business Management program at Humber offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to prepare students for leadership roles within the sport industry. In Semester 1, students explore foundational topics such as the structure of the sport industry, financial management, integrated marketing, leadership, people management, and strategic business insights through the Sport Seminar Series. Semester 2 builds on this foundation with courses focused on managing communications, sport hosting and special events, sponsorship, ethics and legal issues, and sport sales, all essential skills for effective sport management. The program also emphasizes hands-on experience, with two consecutive semesters dedicated to field placements, providing students with real-world opportunities to apply their knowledge in sport business settings. Delivered primarily in-person, the program ensures strong engagement with faculty and industry professionals, fostering practical learning and networking. Through this blend of theoretical knowledge and applied experience, students develop a well-rounded skill set that prepares them to excel in various roles across the Canadian and global sport sectors, from event management and marketing to sponsorship and leadership, making them highly competitive in the sport business field.
