COURSE CURRICULUM

The Public Relations graduate certificate program at Lakeshore offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip students with essential skills for a successful career in PR and communications. In Semester 1, students engage in core courses such as Event Planning and Management, Public Affairs, Public Relations Practice and Theory, Social and Digital Media, Corporate and Investor Relations, Integrated Communications Strategy, and Public Relations Writing and Lab 1, delivered primarily in-person with some hybrid options. Semester 2 deepens practical skills through courses like Public Relations Writing and Lab 2, Presentation Skills, Corporate Responsibility and Internal Communications, Research for Public Relations, Media Relations and Crisis Communications, Design for PR Practitioners, and Professional Practice, with a mix of in-person, hybrid, and online formats. The program culminates in Semester 3 with a Field Experience course, providing real-world exposure in public relations through a hybrid or in-person format. This hands-on learning approach, combined with theoretical knowledge, prepares students to strategically manage communication campaigns, handle media relations, navigate crises, and implement integrated communication strategies effectively.
