COURSE CURRICULUM

The Human Resources Management graduate certificate program at Humber is structured over three semesters and provides a comprehensive, practical education designed to prepare students for careers across all areas of HR. In Semester 1, students build foundational knowledge and skills through courses such as Computer Analytic Skills (BISM 5000), Compensation and Benefits (HRM 5004), Recruitment and Selection (HRM 5005), Occupational Health and Safety (HRM 5006), Employment Law (HRM 5007), Organizational Behaviour (HRM 5008), and Human Resources Planning (HRM 5504), all available in multiple formats including in-person and online. Semester 2 deepens this learning with advanced courses including Human Resources Management (HRM 5003), Labour Relations (HRM 5502), Training and Development (HRM 5503), and the HR Business Project (HRM 5505), which allows students to apply their skills in a simulated organizational setting. The curriculum also includes People Analytics (HRM 5507), emphasizing data-driven decision-making, and Finance and Accounting Essentials for HR Professionals (HRM 5508), equipping students with financial literacy critical to HR functions. In Semester 3, students complete a Field Experience (WORK 5508), providing valuable real-world exposure in professional HR settings.
