COURSE CURRICULUM

The Event Management graduate certificate program at Humber is structured over three semesters, blending in-person and online courses to provide a comprehensive and flexible learning experience. In Semester 1, students develop foundational skills with courses such as Event Planning (BEMP 5001) and Event Production (BEMP 5002) delivered in-person, while gaining knowledge in Event Financial Management (BEMP 5003), Event Marketing (BEMP 5004), Sales and Sponsorship (BEMP 5006), Computer Analytic Skills (BISM 5000), and Career Development and Pre-Placement Seminar (WORK 5006) through online formats. Semester 2 deepens students’ understanding of the industry with courses like The Event Industry (BEMP 5000), Business Law for Event Management (BEMP 5007), Human Resources and Volunteer Management (BEMP 5008), and Catering Management (BEMP 5009), combining online and in-person instruction. Students also complete an Event Project (BEMP 5100) in person and participate in an Industry Seminar (WORK 5570) online. The program culminates in Semester 3 with a hands-on Field Experience in Event Management (WORK 5120), providing practical industry exposure. This mix of theory, applied projects, and real-world experience ensures students are well-prepared to manage diverse events and excel in the evolving event management field.
