COURSE CURRICULUM

The Arts Administration and Cultural Management graduate certificate program is structured across three semesters, primarily delivered in-person to provide immersive, hands-on learning experiences. Semester 1 introduces students to the fundamentals with courses such as Introduction to Arts Management (ARTC 5000), Planning and Programming in Arts and Culture (ARTC 5002), Financial Management 1 (ARTC 5005), Marketing Arts and Culture (ARTC 5202), Cultural Policy (ARTC 5203), and Professional Practice (ARTC 5209), all designed to build a strong foundation in arts management and cultural sectors. Semester 2 expands on these skills with Human Resources in Arts and Culture (ARTC 5003), Revenue Development (ARTC 5004), Equity and Pluralism in Arts and Culture (ARTC 5200), and Financial Management 2 (ARTC 5207). Students also engage in a Capstone Project in Arts and Culture (ARTC 5205) to demonstrate their learning and practical skills. Additionally, Field Experience 1 (ARTC 5206) is offered online, providing flexible real-world exposure in arts administration and cultural management. In Semester 3, students complete Field Experience 2 (ARTC 5500) in-person, further solidifying their practical expertise. This comprehensive structure equips students with the knowledge, strategic planning abilities, financial acumen, and hands-on experience essential for successful careers in arts and cultural management.
