COURSE CURRICULUM

The course offerings for the advertising program span three semesters, featuring a blend of in-person, hybrid, and online formats to accommodate diverse learning preferences. Semester 1 focuses on foundational skills with courses such as Copywriting 101 (CAD 5000), Art Direction 101 (CAD 5005), and Advertising Studio 1 (CAD 5015), all delivered in-person without Lakeshore or online options. Complementary courses include Writing for Digital Media (COPY 5013), Copywriting Concepts (COPY 5014), Introduction to Advertising (FAA 5000), and Creative Strategy (FAA 5005), also in-person only. Semester 2 advances students with intensive portfolio development (CAD 5200) and Advertising Studio 2 (CAD 5215), both in-person. This semester introduces digital storytelling (COPY 5513) offered in-person, alongside Persuasive Copywriting (COPY 5514) and Copywriting 201 (COPY 5520), all in-person. Additionally, Professional Practice (FAA 5205) is available online, providing flexibility. Semester 3 includes Field Experience - Advertising Copywriting (COPY 5510) in a hybrid format, combining in-person sessions with online components during academic terms A and S. Overall, the program blends practical and theoretical learning with varied delivery modes, primarily emphasizing in-person engagement, while integrating online options to support professional practice and field experience, ensuring a comprehensive and adaptable education for advertising students.
