COURSE CURRICULUM

The Multimedia Design and Development diploma program at Humber is structured over four semesters, beginning with foundational courses such as Typography 1, Design 1, Digital Technology 1, Motion Design 1, Creative Thinking, Web Technology 1, and College Reading and Writing Skills. In the second semester, students deepen their technical skills with Video Production, Digital Audio Design, Contemporary Web Design 1, Web Technology 2, Creative Coding, and workplace writing, while also engaging in a general arts and sciences introduction. The third semester advances their expertise through courses like Multimedia Design, Advanced Multimedia Technology, Motion Design 2, Contemporary Web Design 2, Emerging Multimedia Practice 1, and Professional Practice, alongside a general elective. The final semester emphasizes real-world experience with a Field Experience placement, Portfolio Development to prepare for career opportunities, Digital Branding Strategies, and Emerging Multimedia Practice 2, plus another general elective. This comprehensive curriculum integrates creative and technical skills, preparing students for dynamic roles in multimedia design and development, with strong focus on web and motion design, digital audio and video, coding, and professional practice, ensuring graduates have a well-rounded portfolio and practical experience for success in the evolving digital media industry.
