COURSE CURRICULUM

The Media Communications diploma program is structured over four semesters to provide a comprehensive education in communication, design, and media production. In the first semester, students begin with foundational courses such as Communication Strategies, Innovative Design, Web Design, and Digital Imaging, alongside general education and technical reading and writing skills. The second semester builds on these fundamentals with hands-on training in Video Production, Studio and Editorial Photography, Dynamic Web Design, and Strategic Media Writing, complemented by workplace writing and an elective course. The third semester advances students’ skills with courses in Video Storytelling and Post-Production, Advanced Image Portfolio, Web Design Portfolio Building, and Media Marketing, while also covering professional practices and advanced design techniques. An elective course and general education requirement further round out the term. In the final semester, students focus on portfolio development, strategic media planning, and real-world application through a Field Experience placement. They also complete a Capstone project and explore Social Media Analytics to understand audience engagement and digital marketing strategies. This program combines creative and technical training with industry-relevant skills, enabling graduates to effectively produce and manage content across multiple platforms. The curriculum is designed with input from industry experts and emphasizes practical experience in state-of-the-art labs and studios, preparing students for successful careers in graphic design, video production, digital marketing, web design, and other dynamic areas of the communications field.
