Humber’s Hospitality – Hotel and Restaurant Operations Management diploma program offers a comprehensive curriculum that blends business fundamentals with hospitality-specific knowledge and practical experience. In the first semester, students are introduced to hotel operations, global hospitality trends, food and beverage operations, and foundational courses in hospitality math, business computing, and communication. The second semester builds on this with practical training in food and beverage service, beverage management, and courses in financial accounting, professionalism, and career development in the hospitality sector. Students also begin developing essential workplace communication skills. In the third semester, the focus shifts to advanced concepts in food and beverage operations, cost control, hospitality marketing and sales, purchasing, leadership, and regenerative tourism, all of which prepare students for strategic and operational roles. The final semester emphasizes advanced hotel management, business planning, and food and beverage management while students complete a field experience placement to gain hands-on industry exposure. Throughout the program, students use industry-standard software such as Opera and Silverware, earn relevant certifications, and benefit from experienced faculty guidance. This well-rounded approach equips graduates with the practical skills, business acumen, and professional readiness to pursue a wide range of careers in hotel and restaurant management both in Canada and internationally.
