COURSE CURRICULUM

Humber’s Hospitality – Event Management diploma program is structured over four semesters to provide students with a comprehensive, hands-on education in event planning and execution. In Semester 1, students build foundational skills through courses like Introduction to Event Management, Food and Beverage Operations, and Mathematics of Hospitality, Events & Tourism, while developing communication and writing abilities. Semester 2 focuses on Event Design and Production, Financial Accounting, and Beverage Management, enhancing students’ understanding of event logistics and industry professionalism. In Semester 3, students dive deeper into the business side of events with Event Marketing, Risk Management, Public Relations and Fundraising, and Catering Management, alongside courses in leadership and hospitality finance. Semester 4 ties all learning together with advanced topics such as Event Execution, Entrepreneurship for Event Management, Wedding and Social Event Planning, and Meetings, Incentives, Conferences & Exhibitions (MICE) management. The program culminates in a real-world Field Experience, where students gain hands-on exposure working with industry professionals. Throughout all semesters, general electives and writing courses support academic and professional development. This well-rounded curriculum prepares graduates for diverse careers as event planners, coordinators, marketers, production staff, and entrepreneurs in both corporate and social event settings, with the skills to thrive in in-person, hybrid, and virtual formats.
