COURSE CURRICULUM

The Electromechanical Engineering Technician diploma program spans four semesters, offering a comprehensive and hands-on education in automation, robotics, and mechatronics. In Semester 1, students build a strong foundation through courses such as Engineering Graphics, Introduction to Control Circuits, Engineering Materials, and Workshop Practices 1, alongside essential skills development in Technical Mathematics and Technical Reading and Writing Skills. A general education course further broadens their academic perspective. Semester 2 introduces core technical areas with Robotics 1, Mechatronics 1, and Industrial Pneumatics, complemented by Statics and a First Year Mechatronics Project that encourages practical application of theoretical knowledge. Workplace writing skills are enhanced to support effective communication in technical environments. Semester 3 continues to develop technical depth with Industrial Hydraulics, Robotics 2, Mechatronics 2, and Programming, along with a course in Introduction to Calculus. Students also choose a general education elective to explore broader topics. In Semester 4, students engage in advanced studies including Mechatronics 3, PLC Applications 1, and C++ Programming for Automation, alongside Applied Dynamics. A capstone Second Year Mechatronics Project challenges students to integrate their learning in a real-world context. Another general elective supports personal or professional interests. Throughout the program, students work with industry-standard equipment in labs and projects that reflect current industry needs. Graduates emerge with a versatile skill set in automation, controls, and mechanical systems, prepared for dynamic careers in industrial automation, robotics, and manufacturing technologies.
