COURSE CURRICULUM

The four-semester program outlined above offers a comprehensive foundation in IT infrastructure, programming, telecommunications, networking, and system administration. Semester 1 introduces students to essential concepts through courses like IT Hardware Infrastructure, Introduction to Programming, Digital Fundamentals, and Technical Mathematics, along with a focus on communication through Technical Reading and Writing Skills. Semester 2 builds upon this foundation with more advanced IT topics, including IT Processes and Support, Fundamentals of Networking Technologies, and introductory courses in Windows Server and Unix System Administration. Students also gain exposure to virtualization through Introduction to Hypervisors and enhance their communication skills in Technical Workplace Writing. In Semester 3, the curriculum advances into specialized areas such as Advanced Routing and Switching, Cloud Infrastructure, and Wireless Networks, while deepening system administration skills for both Windows and Unix platforms. IT security fundamentals are introduced, and students also take a general elective to broaden their knowledge base. Semester 4 focuses on advanced and applied topics, including Data Centre Technologies, Unified Communications, and Cybersecurity. Students complete advanced levels of both Windows and Unix System Administration and apply their learning through a Technical Project, which allows them to demonstrate their skills in a real-world or simulated environment. Another general elective rounds out the final semester, giving students further opportunity to explore interdisciplinary knowledge.
