COURSE CURRICULUM

The Business – Accounting diploma at Humber is structured over four semesters, progressively building accounting knowledge and business skills. In Semester 1, students are introduced to fundamental accounting principles in ACCT 111, business law in BLAW 150, financial math in BMTH 120, and essential academic skills through GNED 101 and WRIT 100, while also learning information systems in ACCT 120. Semester 2 deepens accounting knowledge with ACCT 151 (Introduction to Accounting 2), ACCT 152 (Computerized Accounting 1), and ACCT 153 (Cost Accounting 1), while integrating human resource management (BMGT 205) and workplace communication (WRIT 200), along with a general elective. Semester 3 advances financial and managerial accounting through ACCT 203 (Income Tax), ACCT 205 (Intermediate Financial Accounting: Part A), and ACCT 252 (Cost Accounting 2), while students also explore economic principles in BECN 150 and quantitative skills in BSTA 200, along with another general elective. In the final semester, students apply their skills in ACCT 204 (Computerized Accounting 2) and ACCT 290 (Field Experience), and broaden their economic understanding with BECN 200 (Macroeconomics), while customizing their learning by choosing three courses from either the Accounting Degree Stream (ADG) or the Bookkeeping Stream (BOOK), aligning with their career goals.
