COURSE CURRICULUM

The Biotechnology diploma program offers a comprehensive curriculum that combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on laboratory experience to prepare students for a successful career in the biotech industry. In Semester 1, students build foundational skills with courses such as Foundations of Biology for Biotechnology, Chemistry I, Introduction to Biotechnology, and Biotechniques Laboratory 1, supported by mathematics and writing courses tailored for scientific contexts. Semester 2 expands this foundation by introducing Chemistry II, Human and Cellular Physiology for Biotechnology, and Chemical Techniques Laboratory 1, while also incorporating broader learning through Science in Society, Data Collection Techniques and Biostatistical Methods, and Interprofessional Education. Semester 3 deepens technical and theoretical expertise with courses like Biotechniques Laboratory 2, Chemical Techniques Laboratory 2, Molecular Biology, Immunology, and Organic Chemistry, alongside a general elective. In the final semester, students refine their practical and analytical skills through Biotechniques Laboratory 3, Chemical Techniques Laboratory 3, Biochemistry, and Applied Microbiology, capped off with a workplace-focused writing course and another general elective. Throughout the program, students benefit from state-of-the-art lab facilities and expert instruction that emphasizes real-world applications, preparing them for roles in research, pharmaceuticals, food safety, or environmental science.
