COURSE CURRICULUM

The Advertising and Marketing Communications diploma at Humber is a four-semester program designed to develop well-rounded, industry-ready professionals. In Semester 1, students build foundational skills through courses such as Introduction to Marketing Communications (ADMC 150), Web Design, Digital Imaging, Communication Skills, and College Writing, alongside general studies (GNED 101). Semester 2 shifts into more specialized content, including Introduction to Advertising (ADMC 100), Social Media (ADMC 201), Public Relations (ADMC 203), and Advanced Marketing (ADMC 251), while also emphasizing research, design practice, and workplace writing. Students further customize their studies with a general elective. Semester 3 focuses on developing professional and strategic skills through courses such as Copywriting (ADMC 200), Creative Entrepreneurship (ADMC 205), Content Strategy (ADMC 207), and Analytics (ADMC 208), while also learning about account and client management (ADMC 206) and professional practice (ADMC 202). In the final semester, students apply their learning in a real-world context through a Capstone project (ADMC 250), Campaign Planning (ADMC 252), and a Field Experience placement (ADMC 255). Additional courses in presentation skills and contemporary industry issues round out the curriculum. A final general elective allows students to explore broader interests. This practical, creatively focused program prepares graduates for diverse roles in the advertising and marketing communications industry.
