COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Design – User Experience program is structured to provide a comprehensive education in UX design over eight semesters, beginning with foundational courses such as Fundamentals of User Experience Design, Writing for Designers, Design Theory, and Design Practice in the first semester, alongside a degree breadth elective. The second semester builds on this foundation with Collaborative Design Processes, Prototyping for Discovery, Design Practice 2, and Usability Testing, plus another elective. In the third and fourth semesters, students deepen their skills through courses like Visual Communication Design, Design Research Methods 1 and 2, Interaction Design 1 and 2, Information Architecture, Design History, and Information Design, again accompanied by electives. The fifth semester introduces Professional Practice, Service Design 1, Critical Making and Experience Prototyping, Visual Storytelling, and Business Fundamentals for Design Professionals, maintaining the inclusion of a breadth elective. The sixth semester focuses on advanced topics such as Service Design 2, Future Thinking and Emerging Technology, Design and Data, Product Design, and offers a field experience course for practical industry engagement. In the final year, students engage with Systems Thinking, Capstone Project Definition and Implementation, Design for Good, and Special Topics in User Experience Design, completing their studies with a final breadth elective each semester. This curriculum combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on practice and industry collaboration, preparing students to apply human-centered design principles and research methods to solve complex design challenges across various digital and service platforms, while fostering skills in visual communication, interaction design, and emerging technologies, ultimately equipping graduates to thrive as innovative UX designers in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
