COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Commerce – Management Studies program offers a comprehensive curriculum that equips students with the knowledge and practical skills needed to excel in diverse managerial roles. In Semester 1, students begin with core business courses such as Introductory Financial Accounting (ACCT 1000), Microeconomics (ECON 1000), Business Law (LAW 1000), and Marketing (MKTG 1000), along with a Degree Breadth Elective (DEGE). Semester 2 builds on this foundation with Business Information Systems (BUS 1500), Business Communications (BUS 1501), Macroeconomics (ECON 1500), Organizational Behaviour (MGMT 1500), and Statistics for Business (STAT 1112). In Semester 3, students study Financial Management (FIN 2500), Operations Management (MGMT 2500), and Marketing Operations Research (MKTG 2112), alongside a Business Degree Elective (BDGE) and a DEGE. Semester 4 introduces e-Commerce (BUS 2500), Human Resources Management (HRM 2000), Consumer Behaviour (MKTG 2500), and Supply Chain Management (SCM 3503), with one additional DEGE. Semester 5 includes Management Accounting (ACCT 3000), Business Research Methods (BUS 3001), Business Career Development (BUS 3004), Startup & Disruption (MGMT 3005), a BDGE, and a DEGE. In Semester 6, students take Project Management (MGMT 3500), Digital Marketing (MKTG 3500), one BDGE, and two DEGE courses, while also completing their Field Experience (MGMT 3099). Semester 7 focuses on advanced topics like Data Science for Business Analytics (DIGI 4001), Performance Management (HRM 4002), Quality Management (MGMT 4500), Strategic Management (MGMT 4502), and a DEGE. Finally, in Semester 8, students explore Intercultural Communications (BUS 3505), Leadership (BUS 4525), and complete a capstone Senior Level Business Project (MGMT 4525), while choosing one BDGE and one DEGE. This structured progression ensures students graduate with a balanced mix of theoretical understanding and real-world business expertise.
