COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Commerce – Human Resources Management degree program offers a structured curriculum that begins with foundational business courses and progresses into specialized HR studies. In Semester 1, students take ACCT 1000: Introductory Financial Accounting, ECON 1000: Microeconomics, LAW 1000: Business Law, MKTG 1000: Marketing, and one Degree Breadth Elective (DEGE). Semester 2 includes BUS 1500: Business Information Systems, BUS 1501: Business Communications, ECON 1500: Macroeconomics, MGMT 1500: Organizational Behaviour, and STAT 1112: Statistics for Business. Semester 3 covers BUS 2000: Ethics and Values, HRM 2000: Human Resources Management, MKTG 2000: Customer Service, STAT 2112: Quantitative Methods for Business, and one DEGE. In Semester 4, students study BUS 2500: e-Commerce, FIN 2500: Financial Management, HRM 2500: Labour Economics, MGMT 2500: Operations Management, and one DEGE. Semester 5 focuses on career development and HR fundamentals with BUS 3004: Business Career Development, HRM 3000: Recruitment and Selection, HRM 3001: Compensation, HRM 3002: Training and Development, LAW 3000: Employment Law, and one DEGE. In Semester 6, students take ACCT 3500: HR Managerial Accounting, HRM 3500: Occupational Health and Safety, HRM 3501: HR Planning, HRM 3502: Labour Relations, and one DEGE, followed by a practical work placement in HRM 3099: Field Experience. Semester 7 builds advanced knowledge with HRM 4001: HR Research Methods, HRM 4002: Performance Management, HRM 4003: Leadership, MGMT 3500: Project Management, and one DEGE.
