COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Commerce – Healthcare Management program offers a well-rounded curriculum that blends core business knowledge with specialized healthcare-focused courses. In Semester 1, students build a strong foundation with courses in financial accounting, microeconomics, business law, marketing, and a degree breadth elective. Semester 2 introduces business communications, macroeconomics, organizational behaviour, statistics for business, and another breadth elective. Semester 3 advances business knowledge with courses in information systems, ethics, human resources management, and quantitative methods, along with a breadth elective. In Semester 4, students begin focusing on healthcare with healthcare policy and management, while continuing with courses in intercultural communication, financial management, and operations management. Semester 5 deepens healthcare learning with population health and health data analysis, alongside business research methods, career development, and management accounting. In Semester 6, students study health economics, healthcare financial management, research utilization in healthcare, and project management. Semester 6 also includes a field experience placement, offering hands-on learning in a real healthcare setting. In Semester 7, the curriculum expands to health information technology, healthcare strategy, health policy and law, and strategic management, plus a breadth elective. Finally, Semester 8 focuses on current issues in healthcare, services organization, patient-provider-public engagement, and culminates in a comprehensive healthcare management capstone project.
