COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Commerce – Fashion Management program at Humber provides a comprehensive curriculum designed to blend core business principles with specialized fashion industry knowledge. In the first semester, students build foundational skills in financial accounting, microeconomics, business law, and marketing, alongside a degree breadth elective. The second semester continues with courses in business information systems, business communications, macroeconomics, organizational behaviour, and business statistics. By the third semester, students study ethics and values, human resources management, customer service, and quantitative business methods, complemented by an elective. The fourth semester focuses on e-commerce, fashion industry analysis, financial management, and operations management, with another elective. The fifth semester includes business career development, twentieth-century fashion history, textile product knowledge, fashion technology, and consumer behaviour, plus an elective. In the sixth semester, students take courses in retail operations management, brand product development, store planning and merchandising, and retail financial management foundations, as well as an elective. Practical experience is gained through a field experience placement in semester six. The seventh semester introduces entrepreneurship, wholesale sales management, retail financial management applications, and advertising and promotion planning, alongside an elective. The final semester rounds out the program with web development, business research methods, import and export management, and an applied fashion management project, plus a final elective. This blend of business fundamentals, specialized fashion courses, and hands-on experience prepares graduates to effectively navigate and lead within the dynamic fashion industry.
