COURSE CURRICULUM

The Mechanical Engineering Technology advanced diploma program is structured to provide a comprehensive blend of theoretical knowledge and practical skills essential for designing, manufacturing, and maintaining mechanical systems. In the first semester, students build foundational skills through courses like Engineering Graphics, Introduction to Control Circuits, Workshop Practices, Engineering Materials, Technical Mathematics, and Technical Reading and Writing. The second semester introduces Industrial Pneumatics, Statics, Computer-Assisted Design and Manufacturing, and Manufacturing Processes alongside general arts and sciences. In the third semester, students focus on Mechanical Components Design, advanced Computer-Assisted Manufacturing, Industrial Design, Strength of Materials, and advanced Technical Mathematics. The fourth semester deepens knowledge in Industrial Hydraulics, Applied Dynamics, Mechanical Systems Design and Maintenance, Tool and Die Design, with elective options to broaden expertise. In the fifth semester, calculus and specialized courses such as Machine Design, Product Development, Thermal Technologies, Instrumentation and PLC, and the first Capstone Project prepare students to integrate theory with real-world applications. The final semester concludes with Capstone Project 2, Advanced Manufacturing Technologies, Project Management, Lean Manufacturing, and Statistical Process Control, plus electives to tailor learning. This progressive curriculum emphasizes hands-on learning, critical thinking, and industry-relevant skills, culminating in projects that foster collaboration with industry partners.
