COURSE CURRICULUM

The Massage Therapy advanced diploma program spans six semesters, combining comprehensive academic study with extensive hands-on clinical experience. In the first semester, students build foundational knowledge in anatomy, physiology, professional identity, clinical skills, and assessment techniques, alongside interprofessional education and college reading and writing skills. The second semester continues with advanced anatomy and physiology, clinical skills, interpersonal relationships, and teamwork development. By the third semester, students focus on therapeutic exercise, pathophysiology, massage theory for special populations, professional growth, and participate in their first mandatory on-campus internship, while honing workplace writing skills. The fourth semester emphasizes equity and inclusion in health care, research concepts, advanced clinical skills, specialized massage theory, and both on-campus and clinical internships, deepening practical experience and advancing pathophysiology knowledge. In the fifth semester, students expand their expertise in massage theory for special populations, clinical skills, and professional practicums, while gaining essential business skills for healthcare practitioners to prepare for private practice or entrepreneurship. The final semester consolidates business skills, advanced therapeutic exercise, a comprehensive review of massage theory and practice, research projects, and multiple internships to ensure readiness for professional practice. Throughout the program, students engage with general electives and continuous professional development, preparing them to meet regulatory standards and excel as compassionate, knowledgeable massage therapists. This blend of theoretical, practical, and professional training equips graduates to succeed in diverse healthcare settings and contribute meaningfully to patient care and community wellness.
