COURSE CURRICULUM

The Computer Engineering Technology advanced diploma program spans six semesters and builds a strong foundation in electronics, software, and networking. In Semester 1, students begin with digital fundamentals, electronic circuits, hardware/software integration, a foundational project, and essential math and writing skills. Semester 2 expands into electronic circuits, Unix scripting, industry computing, C programming, telecommunication networks, and advanced technical math and workplace writing. Semester 3 introduces calculus, micro assembly language programming, digital systems, Windows scripting, software engineering fundamentals, and object-oriented programming in Java, alongside a general education elective. In Semester 4, students dive into UNIX internals, Java-based databases, internet and mobile programming, advanced Java programming, networking technologies, and smart embedded systems. Semester 5 emphasizes practical and theoretical development with courses in hardware production technology, algorithms and data structures in Java, network programming and security, real-time systems, and a software project. Students also choose a computer engineering elective. In the final semester, students complete a capstone Computer Systems Project and study systems architecture, administration, emerging technologies, and network administration. Two general education electives round out the final term. The program is designed to provide both breadth and depth in core areas of computer engineering technology, preparing graduates with the analytical, technical, and hands-on skills necessary to design, implement, and maintain computer systems and networks in today’s technology-driven industries.
