COURSE CURRICULUM

The Project Management-Information Technology program is structured over two semesters, designed to build comprehensive skills and knowledge for managing IT projects effectively. In the first semester, students take seven courses totaling 294 hours, beginning with Communication for IT Project Managers, which develops essential communication skills tailored to project management contexts. Fundamentals of IT Project Management and Introduction to Agile Project Management in IT provide a strong foundation in traditional and agile project management methodologies. Students also study Introduction to IT Procurement and Contracts in Project Management, learning how to manage procurement processes and contractual obligations. IT Business Value and Delivery focuses on aligning projects with business goals, while Leadership and Organizational Behaviour in IT Projects explores the human factors critical to project success. The semester concludes with Planning for IT Project Success, where students learn key strategies for effective project planning.In the second semester, students continue with seven advanced courses totaling another 294 hours. Advanced Agile Methods for IT Project Management deepens agile practices, while Advanced Planning in IT Projects and Advanced Risk in IT Projects Delivery address complex project scheduling and risk management techniques. Information Security on IT Projects highlights the importance of protecting project data and assets. IT Project Performance and Decision Support Systems covers tools for monitoring and decision-making. Managing Change in IT Projects prepares students to handle organizational and project changes effectively. The program culminates with the IT Project Management Capstone, an applied project that integrates learning and demonstrates proficiency in managing real-world IT projects.In total, the program consists of 588 hours of coursework, preparing graduates to excel as IT project managers by combining technical expertise, leadership skills, and strategic project management capabilities suited to today’s dynamic business environments.
