COURSE CURRICULUM

The Cybersecurity program offers a structured and immersive curriculum designed to equip students with advanced technical and strategic skills essential for protecting digital infrastructures. Over two intensive academic semesters followed by a co-op work term, students engage in rigorous coursework that emphasizes both theoretical foundations and hands-on experience in cybersecurity. In Semester 1, students develop a comprehensive understanding of key security domains, including Security Management, Network Security, Windows and Linux Systems Security, Applied Cryptography, and Security Operations and Analysis. These courses lay the groundwork for critical thinking and practical application in real-world security environments. Semester 2 deepens this expertise with a focus on specialized topics such as Digital Forensics, Hacking Techniques and Exploits, Monitoring and Log Management, Application Security, Cloud Security, and Incident Response. These subjects ensure that students gain valuable insights into identifying vulnerabilities, mitigating risks, and responding to security breaches across various platforms. The program concludes with a full-time, 560-hour co-op work term, providing students with the opportunity to apply their learning in a professional setting and gain relevant industry experience. With a total of 1,064 hours of training, including 504 hours of academic instruction and a 560-hour work placement, graduates of the program are well-prepared to enter roles such as cybersecurity analyst, security operations specialist, or digital forensic technician.
