COURSE CURRICULUM

The Big Data Analytics program is structured to provide students with a comprehensive and applied understanding of data systems, analytical methods, and industry-relevant tools. In Semester 1, students begin by building foundational knowledge in data architecture, programming, and visualization. Courses such as Data System Architecture, Business Processes and Modelling, and Data Analytics Programming introduce key concepts and tools used in structuring and managing data. Students also develop analytical and problem-solving skills through Mathematics for Data Analytics, and learn to communicate insights effectively in the Data Visualization and Business Intelligence courses. This first semester sets the groundwork for understanding how data can drive informed decisions and operational efficiencies.In Semester 2, students expand their expertise with more advanced topics and real-world applications. Courses like Social Media Analytics and Data Mining, Cloud Based Data Engineering, and Business Analytics explore the practical use of data in dynamic business environments. The Applied Machine Learning course introduces students to predictive analytics and AI-powered solutions, while the NoSQL Databases course offers experience working with non-relational data formats commonly used in large-scale systems. The capstone Data Analytics Project challenges students to apply their knowledge to solve complex problems, simulating workplace scenarios. With 504 total instructional hours across two semesters, this intensive program ensures graduates are equipped with the technical and analytical skills to enter high-demand roles in data analytics, business intelligence, and data science.
