COURSE CURRICULUM

The Graphic Design program follows a structured six-semester progression, offering a total of 1,588 hours of comprehensive training in visual communication and design. In Semester 1, students are introduced to foundational courses such as Typography, Graphic Design 1, Production Fundamentals, and Digital Page Layout, alongside a communications and general education course, totaling 252 hours. Semester 2 builds on these basics with training in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Web Fundamentals, and Graphic Design 2, maintaining the same hourly structure. In Semester 3, students delve into Digital Ad Design, Drawing and Illustration for Graphic Designers, Graphic Design 3, Production Studio 1, Photographic Communication, and History of Illustrative and Graphic Art. Semester 4 adds complexity with Motion Graphics, Web Content Management, User Interface Design, Production Studio 2, and Graphic Design 4, along with a professional practices course and general education, increasing to 294 hours. Semester 5 emphasizes Portfolio Development, Package Design, 3D Environmental Design, and advanced Graphic Design and Studio courses. Finally, Semester 6 includes Advanced Graphic Applications, Trends and Issues in Graphic Design, one general education course, and a 160-hour Field Training placement, totaling 286 hours. The program’s progression ensures students develop a diverse portfolio and are fully prepared for careers in the graphic design industry.
