COURSE CURRICULUM

The Computer Programming program offers a comprehensive, hands-on curriculum that prepares students to develop software, build web applications, and leverage data to support business decisions. Over six semesters, students progress through foundational and advanced courses, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Arduino-based IoT, object-oriented programming in Java, PHP, Python, ASP.NET, Swift, and mobile development. The curriculum integrates critical areas such as networking, cloud computing, data analytics, artificial intelligence, and game development. Students also gain experience in relational databases, systems analysis, and project management. Emphasis is placed on both front-end and back-end development, security, mobile computing, and programming for diverse platforms including embedded systems and mainframes. The program includes general education and communication courses to strengthen problem-solving, collaboration, and workplace communication skills. Students select program options from a diverse list including Linux system administration, C++, virtualization, data structures, and cloud computing. Two co-op work terms totaling 980 hours provide real-world experience, reinforcing classroom learning and preparing students for careers in software development, web and mobile app design, system analysis, and data-driven business roles. By the end of the program, graduates are equipped with strong technical and business skills, enabling them to contribute to technology-driven environments across industries or pursue further education in related fields.
