COURSE CURRICULUM

The Aviation Management program follows a structured course sequence designed to equip students with both industry-specific knowledge and practical business skills over six semesters. In Semester 1, students are introduced to aviation fundamentals through courses like Aviation Orientation, Aviation Operations, and Flight Lab, alongside foundational skills in organizational behaviour, spreadsheets, and government roles in aviation. Semester 2 builds on this with Airport and Airline Management, Marketing, Finance, and technical communication, along with a general education elective. In Semester 3, students explore aircraft characteristics, air cargo logistics, and microeconomics while enhancing their presentation skills and continuing general education. Semester 4 deepens technical aviation knowledge through advanced flight lab, navigation systems, aerodynamics, aviation safety, meteorology, and database management. Semester 5 focuses on management-related subjects including Airport Planning, Safety and Emergency Management, Intrapreneurship, Business Law, and Project Management. In the final semester, students study international aviation, aviation security (SeMS), business ethics, statistics, macroeconomics, and complete a final general education elective. To complement classroom learning, students undertake three co-op work terms following Semesters 2, 3, and 4, providing 1680 hours of hands-on industry experience. This integration of technical, theoretical, and workplace training thoroughly prepares students for dynamic careers in the aviation sector.
