COURSE CURRICULUM

The Veterinary Technician program follows a comprehensive four-semester full-time plan designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills essential for veterinary healthcare. In Semester 1, students study foundational courses including Veterinary Anatomy and Physiology I, Introduction to Veterinary Technology, Animal Care, Animal Husbandry and Handling, and Veterinary Lab Techniques, alongside Communications and General Education courses, totaling 322 hours. Semester 2 builds on this foundation with advanced topics such as Veterinary Anatomy and Physiology II, Veterinary Radiography, Pharmacology, Lab Techniques, Office Practices, Animal Care, and Animal Nursing, along with a General Education course and a 160-hour Field Placement, amounting to 524 hours. Semester 3 includes Animal Nursing II, Veterinary Anesthesia, Radiography, Surgical Techniques, Pharmacology II, Veterinary Dentistry, and Clinical Care of Animals, totaling 294 hours. The final Semester 4 covers Animal Diseases, Companion Animal Nutrition, advanced Veterinary Dentistry, Clinical Care, Livestock and Equine Medicine, Research and Exotic Animal Medicine, Surgery and Anesthesia Techniques, Veterinary Clinical Practice, a General Education course, and another 160-hour Field Placement, summing up to 552 hours. Throughout the program, students gain practical experience through labs and field placements, ensuring readiness to work in diverse veterinary settings. The total program workload is 1,692 hours, preparing graduates to excel as skilled and compassionate veterinary technicians.
