COURSE CURRICULUM

The Sport Administration program’s full-time Fall intake follows a structured four-semester plan designed to provide students with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills for the sport and recreation industry. In the first semester, students focus on foundational courses such as Technology in Administration, Research in Recreation and Sport, Program Planning, and Introduction to Sport Administration, alongside selected Communications and General Education courses, totaling 252 hours. The second semester builds on this foundation with courses in Fitness and Wellness, Financial Analysis, Introduction to Marketing, Sport Organizations in Canada, and Dynamic Presentations, plus Communications and General Education courses, also totaling 252 hours. In the third semester, students study Sport and Recreation Administration, Facility Operations, Sales, Fundraising and Sponsorship, and Leagues, Tournaments and Events, complemented by an option course and a 90-hour Career Preparation field placement, summing up to 300 hours. The final semester includes Trends in Sport, Sports Tourism, Scouting and Sport Team Operations, another option course, a General Education course, and a 90-hour Career Readiness field placement, totaling 300 hours. Option courses allow students to tailor their education with subjects like The Business of Esports, Social Entrepreneurship, Event Planning, and Foundations of Sport Analytics. This comprehensive 1104-hour program ensures graduates are well-prepared for dynamic careers in sport administration.
