COURSE CURRICULUM

The Protection, Security and Investigation program follows a streamlined four-semester continuous model, totaling 1,365 hours and designed to prepare students for dynamic roles in public and private sector security. In Semester 1 (252 hours), students are introduced to private investigation, surveillance, municipal law enforcement, public safety, emergency management, and security skills, alongside communication and general education courses. Semester 2 (294 hours) builds on foundational knowledge with studies in radicalization, extremism, physical security planning, investigative processes, cybersecurity, security management, leadership, and mental health in public safety, complemented by a general education course. Semester 3 (252 hours) focuses on advanced cybersecurity, intelligence and risk management, conflict and crisis intervention, equity and inclusion in community safety, and includes both a communication and a general education elective. In Semester 4, students complete a 42-hour Field Operations – WIL Seminar and a 525-hour internship, for a total of 567 hours. This final semester allows students to apply their academic learning in a real-world setting, gaining valuable industry experience. Across the program, students develop critical thinking, leadership, crisis response, investigative techniques, and digital security skills that are in high demand. Graduates are well-positioned to pursue careers in law enforcement, private investigation, corporate security, emergency management, and intelligence sectors.
